The Canadian Federation of Agriculture’s (CFA) Annual General Meeting took place from February 24-25, 2026 at the Delta City Centre Hotel in Ottawa, ON.
This year’s theme for the AGM was Let’s Grow Canada: Building the Future of Canadian Agriculture, examining the building blocks we need to put into place today to create a more prosperous agriculture sector that improves the lives of all Canadians.
During the CFA AGM, the CFA Board passed 50 resolutions for the upcoming year, which can be viewed here.
AGM Spotlight: Young Farmers of Canada
CFA would like to thank Farm Credit Canada for being the exclusive sponsor of the Young Farmers Program at the CFA AGM, which provided a discount on registration for the AGM for young farmers. Young farmers that attended the CFA AGM represented a variety of commodities and regions from across the country. During the AGM we had various activities for young farmers such as.
Farm Credit Canada also sponsored the Young Farmers Pre-Reception, which had special guests Senator Mary Robinson and former MP Francis Drouin.

On February 23rd, Spirits Canada hosted the Spirit’s Canada Reception, where CFA AGM delegates and great appetizers and cocktails were enjoyed by all.

On the evening of February 25th, the CFA held its annual President’s Reception, which was exclusively sponsored by the Railway Association of Canada.
At the reception, we had approximately 300 people in attendance.

The CFA Summer Meeting is one of the premiere agriculture events of the year, which took place from July 15th-16th at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel in Halifax, NS.

Policy Summit
CFA’s Policy Summit brought together farmers and leaders from across Canada’s food supply chain for engaging discussions on the pressing topics of Canadian Agriculture. This year’s theme was Building Canada’s Agricultural Growth Engine: Policy Priorities for the Next Policy Framework, taking a look at what is working, what isn’t, and the changes needed to make an enabling framework for Canadian agriculture.
Federal-Provincial-Territorial Roundtable
The FPT Roundtable is an annual event that brings together the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Ministers of Agriculture to take part in roundtable discussions with farmers and leaders throughout the food supply chain. This year featured breakout tables that allowed for engaging and honest discussions with Ministers on the development of the Next Policy Framework.

CFA Summer Meeting and FPT Roundtable
The 2027 Summer Meeting will be held from September 7-8. This 2-day event includes the CFA Board Meeting; CFA Policy Summit; Federal/Provincial/Territorial (FPT) Minister’s Roundtable Meeting; our annual Summer Reception hosted by our local member organization, and the FPT Minister’s Reception. Registration will launch in June 2027!
