2025 CFA AGM Recap

The Canadian Federation of Agriculture’s (CFA) 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), took place at the Delta Ottawa City Centre Hotel from February 25-26, 2025 bringing together farm leaders from across the country as well as industry stakeholders and government representatives to help set the priorities for Canadian agriculture in the coming year.

This year’s theme for the AGM was Laying the Foundation: Investing Today for the Future of Canadian Agriculture, examining the foundational elements that need to be put into place for a prosperous future for Canadian agriculture.

The AGM kicked off with CFA’s new “Who We Are” video, an updated video on what CFA does as an organization.

During the CFA AGM, the CFA Board passed 18 resolutions for the upcoming year. View a list of those resolutions here.


AGM Spotlight: Young Farmers of Canada

CFA would like to thank FCC for being the exclusive sponsor of our first Young Farmers Program at the CFA AGM, which provided a discount on registration for the AGM for young farmers. Over 35 young farmers attended to CFA AGM, representing a variety of commodities and regions from across the country. During the AGM we had various activities for young farmers such as:


CFA Elections

During the AGM CFA held elections for the position of President, Vice-President and 2nd Vice-President, with the following results:

  • President – Keith Currie
  • Vice-President – Jill Verwey
  • 2nd Vice-President – Stéphanie Levasseur

CFA wishes its departing Vice-President, Todd Lewis, and 2nd Vice-President, Pierre Lampron the best in their future endeavors as we look forward to advocating for Canadian agriculture with our new executive officers!

Spirit’s Canada Welcome Reception and President’s Reception

On February 25th, Spirits Canada hosted the Spirit’s Canada Reception, where CFA AGM delegates and great appetizers and cocktails were enjoyed by all.

CFA would like to thank Spirits Canada for hosting this wonderful event!

On the evening of February 26th, the CFA held its annual President’s Reception, which was exclusively sponsored by the Railway Association of Canada.

At the reception, we had approximately 300 people in attendance.
