Next Round of WTO negotiations

In order to achieve meaningful and comprehensive results, Canada should endeavour to have the next round of agricultural negotiations carried out in the context of a comprehensive round of WTO negotiations.

The next round of trade negotiations must focus at the onset on:

• Reaching an agreement to eliminate all export subsidies
• Reaching an agreement which contains precise and enforceable rules which apply equally to all members, and thereby rectifies the disparity in the level of commitments which resulted from the Uruguay Round (e.g. minimum access).
