CFA Welcomes New Executive Director

OTTAWA, APRIL 28 — The Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Errol Halkai as its new Executive Director.

With a long history of working on agricultural issues within industry and government, Errol joined the CFA in 2009 as an international trade consultant and since 2015, has held the position of Acting Executive Director.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to welcome Errol as CFA’s Executive Director,” said CFA President Ron Bonnett. “Having already worked with Errol for several years, I am confident that he has the expertise to lead CFA and advance the valuable work it does on behalf of farmers at the national level.”

This appointment comes as a result of the medical retirement of Brigid Rivoire who assumed the position of Executive Director in 2001. During her years with CFA, Brigid provided a wealth of wisdom and leadership that benefited the organization tremendously. Her tenure will no doubt be remembered for her tireless efforts in advocating for long-term policy solutions for Canadian farmers and strengthening the partnership between industry and government. Her passion for the industry will most certainly be missed, and the CFA Board of Directors and its members wish her all the best.
